FaithCo is dedicated to bringing hope, relief, and a brighter future to the people of Haiti, the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. Our mission is deeply rooted in love, compassion, and a commitment to uplifting the lives of those in need through various humanitarian efforts and sustainable development projects.
The Struggle in Haiti
Haiti, a beautiful Caribbean nation, shares the island of Hispaniola with the Dominican Republic. Despite its rich culture and history, Haiti faces immense challenges. The nation is approximately the size of the state of Maryland but is home to over 11 million people, a significant portion of whom live in dire poverty. Haiti’s struggle with poverty is profound, leaving many of its citizens in a daily fight for survival.
Haiti’s poverty is starkly evident in its alarming statistics. The country has the third highest rate of hunger in the world, with a significant portion of its population suffering from severe food insecurity. Malnutrition is a pervasive issue, with rates surpassing those in Angola. Access to clean water is another critical problem; Haiti has less clean water available per capita than even Ethiopia, leading to widespread waterborne diseases. The health challenges are further compounded by the nation’s low life expectancy, which is lower than that of Sudan.
